Life After Lockdown

Entering society after a worldwide pandemic can be a scary prospect but with the continued support from us as a community, we can help make the transition to a new normal a little less stressful.

With more and more of us searching for an alternative to gym training, we wanted to provide a service which replicated a gym workout but in complete privacy abiding by all of the current safety guidelines.

Our mobile gym van is fully customised to the highest quality with every piece of state-of-the-art equipment carefully chosen to ensure the absolute best Personal Training session can be provided every single time with precision and variety.

Our clients safety is at the forefront of our operations with all protocols taken directly from the government and appropriate organisations, we can ensure everyone is protected from viruses as thoroughly as possible.

As we all continue to fight coronavirus (COVID-19), it is important we all work together to help keep our families and communities safe by continuing to follow public health measures ultimately controlling the spread. This includes thoroughly washing hands for 20 seconds and ensuring social distancing is adhered to.

With normal social interaction limited for the short-term, it is crucial that we take care of our mental and emotional wellbeing.

We have created some tips to help you look after your mental health during this time. 

The first step is to remember the pandemic is temporary and there is a new normal ahead.

Keep Connected

Try not to separate yourself from your social network. As difficult as it may seem, connect with people. Remember, if you feel like this, it is likely others will too, so keep in touch with family, friends, colleagues or neighbours through voice and video calls such as Skype or FaceTime, or simple message systems like Messenger or WhatsApp.

Arrange daily telephone calls with those who may be at home alone. Once restrictions are relaxed, arrange safe and distanced meet ups with family or friends to increase your social interaction which will help release happy chemicals in your brain, giving you the mental boost you need.

Stay Active

Staying active is more important than ever, to not only increase mobility and physical strength but improve mental health too.

There are many opportunities to stay active at home, including doing gardening or housework or completing an online exercise class or training session. 

You can also choose to go for a walk, run or bike ride but make sure current social distancing measures are adhered to.

This is also a great opportunity to try a Personal Training session at your home or work place in the Fitness Rush Mobile Facility following all current government advice and guidance. 

Pay Attention

Take some time to take in your surroundings and be thankful for everything we still have around us, our families, belongings and nature.

Try to limit watching the news and browsing social media, this can instill a negative outlook on a situation which is out of our control and stop you focusing on the things that are most important in our lives, such as family and your own wellbeing.

Remember it is completely normal to feel ‘not normal’ during this time. By understanding that this is temporary and things will improve, we can start to look forward to a bright future post Covid. There was a life before the pandemic and there will be one after it too.

It is easy to fall into unhealthy habits but as with any habit, this can lead to a negative impact on your health and lifestyle, so to keep up with healthy routines and patterns which will keep you physically and mentally fit.

Learn

Since leaving the nationwide lockdown, we have all had to learn new ways to do things and different ways to enjoy ourselves. 

Try to take every positive out of the situation and know you are increasing your horizons and learning new skills with every change.

This learning experience can give us a great sense of achievement, boost our confidence and increase our willingness to learn a new normal. Take this opportunity to teach others new skills including your children or sign up to an online course to broaden your horizons.

Smile

Every time you adhere to a rule or guideline, you are helping your community and health services by showing the respect everyone deserves and doing your best not to spread the virus.

As simple as it might seem, this is the most important gift you can give right now.

Continuing with acts of kindness is still of the upmost importance but the simplest of things can sometimes carry the greatest impact. Even a smile to a neighbour or passers-by can put a positive spin on someone’s day and spread to the wider community which can be incredibly rewarding for all those involved.
